WEEKLY FEATURED PRODUCTS

1) Rolling Green Flower – Goof Off (3.5g)

Imagine, if you will, that you’re alone in an open field in the middle of the night. The air is still, and a low humming tone grows slowly louder as it seems to descend upon you from above. Suddenly, an intense beam of white light envelops you. As you shield your eyes from the blinding flash, your feet lift off the ground and you rise up into a motionless craft. The floor silently rematerializes below your feet. An other-worldly creature approaches from the shadows and speaks to you in a language you’ve never heard, but for some reason you understand completely. It says, “Smoke better.” and hands you a jar of buds that look frostier and more delicious than anything you’ve ever seen before. You can almost taste the bright, piney, and deep, earthy notes and feel the high-energy, super clear, creative high simply by looking at it. Then, before you can even open the jar to smell it, you’re dropped back in the field and the ship is nothing but a bright streak in the night sky above. But you’ve still got the jar! The buds? Goof off, from Rolling Green. The creature? We may never know.

2) Hudson Cannabis – Sour Unicorn Infused Pre Rolls (7pk)

Hudson Cannabis is always bringing the heat with their wide variety of delicious and potent pre rolls. However, for a select few, regular pre rolls simply don’t do the trick. Hudson knows this all too well and the latest addition to their pre roll lineup is aimed at those that feel the same. This pack of seven joints is infused with bubble hash to give you a high-end experience in both flavor and effect. They have a deep, funky terp profile and the premium bubble hash inside burns so smooth you’ll wonder why you ever smoked a joint without it. Not to worry, you can always stop by Terp Bros and stock up on them, so you never have to again!

3) Jaunty Edibles – Assorted Flavors (2pk)

Look, we get it. Not everybody is trying to get completely blasted. And we understand that not everyone has a bunch of extra income to throw around either. Does that mean that you don’t deserve to get lifted like everybody else? Absolutely not! Here at Terp Bros, we believe that everyone deserves the right to take flight no matter what your budget or lifestyle is. For that reason, we decided to carry a more affordable, smaller pack of edibles that still packs a punch! Jaunty is known for their vapes, disposables, and concentrates. However, they also kill it in the edibles space! These things come in packs of two in Mango Sunrise and Sour Watermelon flavors. The Mango Sunrise flavor boasts a 1:1:1 ratio of THC, CBD, and CBG, meaning you’ll feel better than good, guaranteed. The Sour Watermelon flavor comes in a 2:1 THC to CBD ratio for a nice, relaxing high that’s perfect for after work or a stressful day. Regardless of which flavor you choose or why you decide to grab one of the new two packs of Jaunty edibles, we do know one thing. You’ll be back for more!

LOCAL MUNCHIES HIGHLIGHT – MOMBAR – STEINWAY ST. ASTORIA

Part of the charm of being a food lover in New York City is finding new places to not just eat, but also have a unique experience. The Egyptian restaurant called Mombar in Astoria offers both, along with a homestyle feel that is unlike any other dining experience the city has to offer. We want to address this up front. This is not a place to come for a quick bite. Fast casual restaurants are great, and they serve their purpose. However, Mombar is for those looking to leave the city behind for a few hours and have a truly memorable experience from start to finish. Where do we begin with this place? For starters, you may have a hard time finding it if you aren’t paying close attention. The signage is minimal, and part of a much larger mosaic art installation that covers almost the entire front exterior wall of the restaurant. You could spend hours just looking at the art that took the owner years to finish. Some would even call it a labor of love, and what is waiting for you beyond the front door is no different.

The entire experience at Mombar is designed to transport you from modern-day Astoria to medieval Cairo almost instantly. There is one guy that runs the show here. No, we’re not kidding. It’s one guy that cooks everything and curates the entire experience for the lucky few that get to dine here each night. You’re seated in a dining room with ornate tapestries and wall décor from all corners of the world. It’s truly a feast for the eyes before the feast itself begins. The chef greets you personally to go over the entire menu for the night. He then gives you time to choose from the extensive list of delectable delicacies. You really can’t go wrong here. Some of our favorites are the lamb cheeks, Mishmish chicken stuffed with rice and spices with an apricot sauce, and their Kushari (Egypt’s National dish) is made with love that you can truly taste. It’s a mix of noodles, lentils, rice, and chickpeas with crispy onions and tomato sauce and it will make you wish you didn’t wait so long to try it. Expect to feel like you’re dining at a loving grandmother’s home and for it to take about as long. Meals here are known to run roughly three hours start to finish, so don’t come in a rush, and remember to bring cash. Don’t worry, though. As soon as you take your first bite, you won’t want to leave.

WHAT TO DO IN QUEENS (AND BEYOND) THIS WEEK

1) Queens County Farm Hayrides – Queens County Farm Museum – Tue. May 20, 1-4pm

Let’s face it. As great and beautiful as our amazing city is, sometimes it’s nice to take a day away from the business and surround yourself with nature. We have a unique way you can do that without spending an arm and a leg. Simply take a quick ten-mile drive to the Queens County Farm Museum. Pop into the Farm Store and grab your hayride tickets. While you wait for your ride, sneak away to enjoy some “greenery” among nature (away from the kids) to make your hayride even more magical! Fun Fact: From late September through October, the Queens County Farm Museum also offers pumpkin picking, petting zoos, apple cider donut stands, and much more!

2) New York Blood Center – Blood Drive – Fri. May 23, Queens Center Mall, 12-6pm

Have you ever watched a superhero movie and felt that sense of urgency when it ended? Perhaps you’ve even walked out of the theater wondering what it might take for you to become a hero yourself. We’ve got good news for you. All it takes to be a hero is to donate a little bit of blood. Blood donations help save thousands of lives a year and are important for developing new, life-saving medications and treatments that help even more people. The fact is not enough people donate blood, and by simply sitting down for a few minutes you can save lives and help people all over the world live happier, healthier, and longer. In our minds, that’s more than heroic. So, grab your cape (not required) and head over to the Queens Center Mall on Friday, May 23rd from noon to 6pm and be the hero the world needs! We recommend bumping some Enrique Iglesias on the way. Just to get in the right mindset. You… can… take… my breath away.

3) Sunday Roast Dinner – Jones Wood Foundry – Every Sunday, Upper East Side

Ok, so this one isn’t technically in Queens. However, it’s right across the river for an authentic taste of food from across the pond. That’s not an experience we thought you should go without, and we stand by it. Why Sunday roast, you ask? We’re so happy you did. Here in America, we’re spoiled with delicious, deep-fried dishes of every shape and size. While those are great, sometimes you need something that feels a bit more homemade. If you’re in the mood for real food with amazing flavor and a unique experience, then look no farther than Jones Wood Foundry in the Upper East Side. Their weekly Sunday Roast dinner is first come, first serve, and it is delicious, so come early. The roast, the potatoes and vegetables, the Yorkshire pudding, it all slaps. Plus, it’s always nice to have a break from the usual Halal cart food and cheap slices. Treat your taste buds this weekend and head to Jones Wood Foundry for their Sunday Roast! Don’t forget to stop by Terp Bros on your way for some appetite enhancement supplies.

There you have it, you terptastic sons of guns! Another week-long list of fun events, delicious foods, and top-shelf smoke! We know you’re looking for nothing but the best and that’s exactly what we aim to deliver week after week! As always, stay tuned for more news about featured products, early drops, where to be, and what to smoke here in Astoria (and beyond)! We hope you have a great week and look forward to seeing you again soon!
