Welcome back, Terp Fam! It’s the first Tuesday in June and we’ve got a hell of a week ahead of us. First of all, it’s Pride Month so you know we’ve got some 420 friendly Pride events for you to check out this week. Also, as always, we’ve lined up some local munchies for you to treat your taste buds with, and you know we’ve got to give you the heads up on what to smoke (and vape, eat, drink, etc.) too! Spring is almost over and soon the sweltering heat of summer will be upon us yet again, but the vibes are always chill here at Terp Bros Astoria!
WEEKLY FEATURED PRODUCTS
1. Puff Pre Roll 5pk – Jet Fuel (Hybrid)
All the science, we don’t understand. It’s just our job seven days a week to sell you the best products we have. And we think it’s gonna be a long, long time until you find a better five pack of hybrid pre rolls than the Jet Fuel from Puff. They’ll have you high as a kite. You might even feel like a rocket man after you smoke these. One of them would be enough for most smokers, but luckily this pack comes with five! So you won’t be burning out your fuse up there, alone. Bring some friends along with you! After all, it is lonely out in space. So pack your bags and get to Terp Bros Astoria at Zero Hour, 10am (or later, that’s fine) and grab yourself a five pack of Jet Fuel pre rolls from Puff. You’ll be on a timeless flight in no time.
2. Doobie Labs Flower – Rainbow Road (3.5g)
Picture it. You and your best friends Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong… the other ones, all lined up at the starting gate, engines revving. Time stands still as the lights turn yellow one by one, then green. The horn sounds, and you’re off. Now, be honest. When you were reading that you were picturing a specific track from Mario Kart in your head. Rainbow road is the iconic Mario Kart track so you know that the Rainbow Road from Doobie Labs has to be great. Let us be the first to tell you, this stuff lives up to the hype its name implies. It smokes smooth with an earthy, citrusy terp profile and sets in with a heavy, relaxing hybrid high that lasts as long as the Rainbow Road feels when you’re desperately trying not to fall off the edge. Yeah, it’s that good. Get your hands on it. Ten and two!
3. Ayrloom Seltzer – Yuzu Citrus 2:1 THC:CBD (10mg)
Let’s face it. We’ve got three weeks of spring left. Soon, summer will be here and along with it, the sweat and the humidity and the heat and the feeling of constantly being sticky and thirsty. Not to worry, fellow future heat deniers. We’ve got a cure for the end of spring blues. A crisp, light, delicately flavored carbonated beverage with just enough THC to give you a blissful feeling like spring might actually never end. Unfortunately, it will. But the feeling this Yuzu Citrus seltzer from Ayrloom will give you doesn’t have to! Head to Terp Bros Astoria for one (or more) of these delicious beverages along with the many other flavor options Ayrloom has to offer!
LOCAL MUNCHIES HIGHLIGHT – QUEENS ROOM, DITMARS BLVD, ASTORIA
While it may not have been around for as long as other Astoria staples, Queens Room is a huge part of what makes the heart of this neighborhood beat. It’s also a modern transformer. Day after day, it converts from a quaint cafe with locally roasted coffee and free wifi for creatives and work from home folks to a full service bar and restaurant with craft beer and signature cocktails. On top of that, the staff is amazing and friendly and the food they serve is consistently delicious! Let’s get right into it. Some of our favorites on the cafe menu are the specialty drinks, especially the matcha lemonade! They also serve all of the classic coffee options for those that need their caffeine and for those that choose to go with booze, they’ve got an extensive “Day Drinking” menu too! From the brunch menu, you can’t go wrong with the chicken and not waffles. You read that right. At Queens Room they’ve chosen to serve their fried chicken brunch option over pancakes instead of waffles and we’re here for it. We think you will be too! Lunch has to go to the Shakshuka. They have a ton of delicious lunch options, but the spicy tomato sauce and the hummus with the perfectly cooked eggs and feta cheese with warm pita bread is unbelievable. Get it. You’re welcome. For dinner, we’ve got you covered. No need to even look at the menu. To start, either the potato leek soup with warm ciabatta bread or the berry salad if you’ve got a sweet tooth. Entree, either the fettuccine fresca with creme fraiche and sauteed vegetables or the steak and frites. NY strip, hand cut fries, chimichurri. You honestly can’t go wrong with whatever you choose at Queens Room and it will always be paired with amazing and friendly service from locals with lots of love. An instant classic.
WHAT TO DO IN NYC THIS WEEK
1. Grab a drink in a living part of history – The Stonewall Inn – Open Daily
You don’t get many opportunities to sit and enjoy a drink or a show in an actual part of history, but that is exactly what the Stonewall Inn offers. Not only was it where the gay liberation movement began after the Stonewall riots in 1969, but it remains a beacon and a safe haven for the LGBTQIA+ community in NYC and anyone who visits from anywhere in the world. Since the riots in 1969 and due to its pivotal role in advancing gay rights nationwide, the Stonewall Inn has been named a National Historic Landmark, a New York City Landmark, as well as a registered New York State Historic Site. Like we said, a true piece of history that’s still in operation today as a refuge for all that seek it out. Definitely worth the visit, and worth planning ahead too. They’ve got a piano bar and weekly events to check out! And don’t forget to stop by Terp Bros Astoria on your way for all your between drinks smoke break needs!
2. Ru Paul’s Drag Race All Stars 10 Viewing Party – 3 Dollar Bill, June 6 – Brooklyn
For anyone out there looking for the perfect place to watch Drag Race All Stars with the besties, look no further! 3 Dollar Bill, Brooklyn’s premiere queer nightclub and performance venue is doing a live Drag Race viewing on Friday, June 6th from 7-9pm. Entry is free and space is limited so grab the girls and get your seats early! Also, even if you’ve got no girls to grab you should still go! Show yourself some love. After all, if you can’t love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else? Hosted by the amazing Nicky O and music by DJ Jo Disco that will have you dancing so much you won’t want to shantay away until the sun comes up!
3. OSL Bach Festival – Carnegie Hall
Have a side of class with your grass and take in some classical music at Carnegie Hall this week at the OSL Bach Festival. Tickets are still available but going fast so scoop them quick! We know it might sound weird that a dispensary is suggesting going to a classical music festival, but hear us out. There’s something inherently natural about music. Especially classical music. It taps into something within us that nothing else can and if you smoke before you listen to classical music, it can really change your life. Try it out tonight. Get nice and stoned, sit back in a comfy chair, put on literally anything by Bach or Beethoven or Mozart, close your eyes and let it take you on a journey. We promise you won’t be disappointed. And if you happen to find out you like classical music, or if you already know you do, there’s nothing like hearing it live. Do your ears a favor and treat yourself to some tunes of the past!
There it is, Terp Folks! Another week of fun events, featured products and mouth watering munchies. Let us know what you’ve been smoking over the last week and shoot us a DM on Instagram if you’ve got a restaurant, coffee shop, dog cafe, live event etc. you’d like to see featured in an upcoming newsletter. Until next Tuesday, stay high, stay fly, and eyes to the sky. Whatever that means.
