WEEKLY FEATURED PRODUCTS
1. Foy Edibles – Assorted Flavors
Some edibles are infused with just THC just to make you feel high. There is nothing wrong with that. Here at Terp Bros Astoria, we love to get high. However, our experience with THC as well as minor cannabinoids has taught us that THC is not the end all be all when it comes to getting a head change. In fact, without the presence of some more minor cannabinoids, the THC in your gummy might not actually be as effective as you hope. Because of this, the Foy brand of edibles focuses on THC along with minor cannabinoids for a more well-rounded effect. Also known as the “entourage effect”. The minor cannabinoids allow the THC to do its job without having to work as hard. They also change the specific effect the THC in your gummies has on you. The Daytime Mango flavor is more for people who have things to get done. It has THC as well as CBD and CBG which brings relaxation as well as clarity and a giggly vibe with the high. They also offer a nighttime indica op-tion that includes CBD and CBN which together offer a super relaxing feeling that will help even the worst insomniacs drift off into dreamland.
2. Mechanic Farm Flower – ZOAP – 3.5 grams
The Mechanic Farm has been bringing heat with everything they drop here at Terp Bros Astoria and the ZOAP strain is no exception! It has a great, sweet, candy-like profile that stays sweet from inhale to exhale. The finish has a creamy, full-bodied, gassy feel and the high on this strain is next level. This flower is perfect for social settings with a nice relaxing body high as well as a bright mental clarity that is tough to find in strains that have a semi-sedative body high. If we’re being completely honest, it’s a great strain to use as a flex. You want to bring something to the summer get-together that is guaranteed to impress? This is the one for you. You’re welcome in advance!
3. To The Moon – Assorted Products (flower, edibles, vape)
If you’ve been missing your opportunities to go to the moon lately, you are not alone! To The Moon is one of the most popular NYC brands across the board. Whether you’re talking about flower, edibles, or prerolls, To The Moon is guaranteed to have a product you’ll love! They have an assortment of delicious five milligram edibles. They also have a wide variety of flower strains and full-gram live resin disposable vapes that are strong enough to take any stoner To The Moon! Their products are back by extremely popular demand, and it looks like they’re here to stay (unlike NASA’s moon missions).
WEEKLY MUNCHIES HIGHLIGHT – MASSI’S SANDWICH SHOP
Sure, a nice, elegant sit-down meal is a whole vibe unto itself. However, especially living here in NYC, sometimes you just need a good sandwich. Massi’s offers just that with an emphasis on quality over quantity. No thirty page laminated menus or walls cluttered with random items to address their complete lack of a theme. None of that is needed at Massi’s. Their theme is high-quality ingredients, carefully crafted and fit perfectly into one of their delicious, house-made semolina sourdough loaves. The smell of the fresh-baked bread fills your nose upon entry, and is followed shortly thereafter by the scent of freshly-sliced deli meats and cheeses, as well as their fresh veggies and homemade sauces. The limited menu, while not necessarily a good thing at other restaurants, is actually a good thing here. Mostly because everything is so good you’ll want to try it all! Some of our personal favorites on the menu are the grilled chicken and broccoli rabe sandwich, the Cubano, and the delicious dirty fries. The grilled chicken is marinated for hours for a perfect, juicy, flavorful bite from the first to the last. The Cubano is absolutely STACKED with mouth watering roast pork, freshly sliced ham, thick-cut Swiss cheese, house-made pickles, and a tangy mustard to round out all the savory deliciousness. Finally, the dirty fries will never do you dirty here at Massi’s. They start with a bed of hot, crispy, golden french fries, then they top it with the filling of any sandwich on their menu. Like a sandwich without the bread (plus fries). The dirty fries, along with literally everything else on their menu are must try items. Grab a friend or dine alone, just do yourself a favor and get to Massi’s as soon as you can. Well, not before a stop at Terp Bros Astoria for some appetite enhancement.
WHAT TO DO IN QUEENS THIS WEEK (JULY 1 – 7)
1. The Woodsiders Jazz Band – Tuesday, July 1 @ CHOWK in Woodside (8-11pm)
The Woodsiders jazz band is a group of musicians based out of Woodside, Queens that come from all different walks of life and corners of the globe. They blend their unique styles to create unforgettable performances all over NYC and beyond. They are a must-see show if you find yourself around Woodside (or anywhere else they’re performing around the city). They are extremely entertaining and clearly put a great deal of work into every performance, meaning it will always be one-of-a-kind! Also, if you can’t make it tonight, don’t worry! They perform EVERY Tuesday at CHOWK in Woodside. Where else with a name like The Woodsiders? Check them out. You won’t regret it!
2. Fourth Of July celebrations (All over Queens) Friday, July 4
It’s that time of year again, Astoria. America’s birthday. Sure, it may occur during one of the hottest, sweatiest times of the year, but that just gives us all an excuse to get outside and enjoy each other and the nature that peppers the landscape of NYC with its many parks laced with lush greenery. Here at Terp Bros, we know how annoying it can be to try to figure out the best spot to see the fireworks from. That is why this section is dedicated to listing the best places in the city to see giant colorful explosions in the sky for patriotism! Find a comfy spot early at one of the following locations. Obviously, considering the fireworks barges are in the East River, the best viewing locations are along the shore on either the lower east side of Manhattan or Brooklyn. However, if you have no intention of leaving Queens for the night, there are a few spots in Queens where you can catch the show with a decent view. Gantry Plaza Park, Long Island City Waterfront areas, and any location with clear views of the East River or the Brooklyn Bridge. Another option, befriend someone in Queens with a high-up rooftop and hope for the best. Regardless, Terp Bros Astoria has all your pre-party smoking needs covered!
3. Go see a Mets vs Yankees game – Saturday, July 5, 4:10pm (City Field)
Summer means a few things. Heat, hot dogs, beer, and sunshine are some of the main ones. Luckily, a nice summer baseball game is the perfect way to enjoy all of those things! Also, you get to watch people play baseball, too! We don’t blame you if the only reason you want to go is for the beer and hot dogs. That’s the main reason we go too! We have a great time at any baseball game, but when it’s Mets vs Yankees, we have an even better time. Something about the civil rivalry just brings out the best of both teams’ fans. So, grab a beer and a hot dog (don’t look at prices) and enjoy a night you won’t soon forget at Queens very own City Field!
As always, thanks so much for reading! We look forward to giving you the best recs on what to smoke, where to hang out, and where to satisfy those munchies cravings that we know all too well. If you’ve got any suggestions for restaurants you’d like to see featured in an upcoming newsletter, new products you’d like to see carried here at Terp Bros Astoria, or fun events you’ve got coming up you’d like us to highlight. Until next Terpsday, stay high and stay fly!
