Around Terp Bros

Frozen Fire: A Terp Bros Newsletter

BY: BILL WALLIS

Welcome back, Terp fam! It’s been about a hundred and sixty eight hours since we last spoke so we figured it was about time to lace you up with a new list of what to smoke, where to eat, and where to shop in your own backyard! With the last snow still melting and a high temp of fifteen coming up this weekend, it’s only fitting we bring you nothing but heat this week. Crank the radiator, grab a blanket, some slippers for the tootsies, and get ready to have your next seven days planned out for you in a thousand (give or take) short words!

WEEKLY FEATURED PRODUCTS

1. Rolling Green Flower – Lemon Berry – Hybrid

Have you ever showered under ice cold lemon juice in a bathroom built out of fresh berries? Us either. That would be uncomfortable and sticky. However, we have smoked the new Lemon Berry flower from Rolling Green, and that’s about as close as you can get. This potent hybrid has an initial inhale of fresh blueberries and tart raspberries. Further down the palate, that sweet Terp profile gets tangy with citrus and pine notes that perplex and bewilder the taste buds. It tastes really good and fruity is basically what we’re trying to say. The flavor, which is Guy Fieri Flavortown approved, paired with the potent yet balanced hybrid effects make the Lemon Berry from Rolling Green one of our new favorites which means it won’t last long. Stop by Terp Bros today to grab yourself a jar (or 12) today!

2. Soze Live Resin Infused Pre Roll 4 Packs

Sometimes you need a little bit more out of your after work pre roll. Or before work, we don’t judge. For days when straight flower just won’t do, we suggest the new Soze infused pre rolls! Top shelf flower, no shake or trim. Terpy, delicious live resin. Ceramic mesh filter for a smooth draw. That in combination with a price point that doesn’t break the bank makes the new Soze infused pre rolls a quadruple threat! If you are looking for a new brand of pre rolls to try for those days when the daily driver just doesn’t seem to cut it, head down to Terp Bros to try one (or all three) of the amazing strains we have available! Sangria Slushie, Melon Collie, and Forbidden Fruit. All hybrids, all gas!

Soze prerolls

3. Jaunty Cartridge – Granddaddy Purp – Indica

Jaunty has been killing the game with cartridges, disposables, and edibles for a long time. That being said, today we’re solely focused on the new Granddaddy Purp cart they just dropped! If you are an Indica lover, stand up. This one is for you. If what you look for out of weed is something to help you relax, you’re in the right place. This cart has deep, earthy terps that make you start to relax even before the high kicks in. If you’ve got trouble sleeping, this cart can most definitely help. However, for those more seasoned with Indica highs, it’s thoroughly enjoyable before the more relaxing, sedative effects kick in. That means you can enjoy the high and have a great time before you enjoy the GDP carrying you off to dreamland and tucking you in like a little purple bug in a rug. Sound good? Cool, same. Head to Terp Bros today (while well rested) to grab your Granddaddy Purp cart from Jaunty today!

WEEKLY MUNCHIES HIGHLIGHT – BUTCHER BLOCK

In the mood for food from across the pond but can’t find a rock to skip across the Atlantic that’s big enough to hitch a ride on? That’s a weird way to ask if you’re craving Irish food but don’t have the means to get to Ireland, but now we’ve messed it up by explaining it. Regardless, we think you should have one of your next meals at Butcher Block. This Queens staple is serving up fantastic Irish comfort foods and snacks (along with drinks) to hungry Queens residents and travelers alike on the daily! We’re talking sausage rolls, full Irish breakfasts, sandwiches, baked goods, and so much more! You want a sausage roll that would make Greg blush? How about a bag of Tayto brand cheese and onion crisps to pair with your orange Lucozade? Not entirely sure what any of that means? You’re not alone, but you’re definitely missing out.

Irish food is delicious and their snacks and drinks are no exception! We think one of the most tasty and unique offerings they have is their breakfast burrito. But you won’t find any salsa or avocado in this tortilla. Rather, their unique take on the Mexican dish. Instead, you’ll find all of the standard Irish breakfast foods inside. Black and white pudding, bangers (sausages), rashers (bacon), eggs, and more! It may not be what most people think of when they think “breakfast burrito” but it’s one we think you’ll love if you give it a shot. Breakfast burrito or not, no matter what you choose from Butcher Block, we think you’ll be happy! Make sure to let them know we sent you!

SMALL BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT

1. Singlecut Beersmiths

If you live in or near Astoria and love beer, you’ve got to check out Singlecut. They’re a small, local brewery and their beers speak for themselves. However, they don’t write spotlight pieces for themselves in neighborhood dispensary newsletters, so here we are. Whether you like strong IPAs, tart and fruity sours, dark, heavy stouts, or all of the above, Singlecut has something for you! They’re also friendly and their brewery serves fantastic food to pair with their unforgettable beers. Whether it’s for the beer, the food, or just to check out a new local spot to hang out, we recommend you try Singlecut Beersmiths. Have one (responsibly) for us!

2. Side B Gift & Thrift

If you need to buy a gift for a friend or loved one, skip Side A and try Side B. Alright, cards on the table, we’re not 100% sure if there’s a store called Side A or not. But there is a store called Side B that’s locally owned and sells adorable handmade gifts, soaps, trinkets, and so much more! They also sell vintage and slightly damaged clothing as well as one of a kind fun products. In need of post notes that look like instant ramen packs? They got you. Maybe you’ve been looking for a tiny pocket sized turn crank music box. Not sure why you would be, but if you are, they also have you covered. From candles to decorative plates and everything between, Side B is your one stop shop for all the little things you never knew you needed!

3. Sorriso’s Italian Salumeria

This is New York. We’ve got the best food scene in the world. You can get any dish from any cuisine at any time of day (or night) in this city and that’s just one of the many things that make it such a magical place to live. However, at the end of the day, one of the giants of cuisine in the city is Italian food. From meatballs to pasta to that warm, fuzzy feeling you get when you smell tomato sauce that’s been simmering for hours, Italian food has a hold on our hearts (and our arteries) in this city. One of the best players in the game, especially here in Queens, is Sorriso’s Italian Salumeria. They have delicious cured Italian meats and cheeses, Italian staples like olives, house made pasta (fresh daily) and so many other amazing things you just have to see (and taste and smell) for yourself. They also make unbelievable sandwiches and happen to be fantastic and friendly people that simply love to serve their neighborhood and are amazing at what they do. Good people making great food. You can’t beat that!
