Hello and happy Tuesday, Terp folks! Did you miss us? Because we missed you, and we’ve got a lot to go over since we last talked. First, our second location in Ozone Park is officially open! We’ve already been the go-to shop in Astoria for almost two years, but now we’re officially beginning our expansion and Ozone Park is the perfect spot for location number two! Also, in case you haven’t heard, our flagship store in Astoria celebrates its second birthday this month on the 25th! Come out and show some love to the staff and the owners and enjoy a laundry list of fun activities! Check back next Tuesday for even more info about the party and what to expect! In the meantime, we’re back like every Tuesday with a list of fantastic new products on the shelves here at Terp Bros, what to do in your neighborhood(s), and where to eat when the dreaded munchies kick in. Sit back, relax, and have your notes app ready because you aren’t going to want to miss a second of what we’ve got lined up for you this week!
WEEKLY FEATURED PRODUCTS!
1. DaDa Flower 1/8ths – Assorted Strains
What’s good, flavor chasers? Welcome to the part of the weekly newsletter where we tell you what to put in your pipe and smoke. This week’s flower selection is DaDa, who has been bringing the heat in the New York market and turning heads on the shelves. We’ve noticed. If you know what’s up, you’ve noticed too. If not, we got you. While supplies last, that is. This stuff is going to move. The current lineup available here at Terp Bros includes two hybrids and a sativa. Sorry, indica lovers. However, the three available are definitely worth checking out. The PyxyStyx (hybrid) is a delicious and candy sweet flavor bomb that also doesn’t lack in strength. The R-Dawg (also hybrid) hits all of the flavor notes that Pyxy Styx misses. Delivering pungent clouds of gassy, earthy, citrusy terps with a distinctive diesel finish but with solidly hybrid effects. Finally, the Jack Herer (sativa) packs the punch a true Jack lover wants. Pine, citrus, herbal notes. Truly the whole package. Head to Terp Bros to try one (or all three) today!
2. Bodega Boyz Dual Chamber Vapes – 2G – Assorted Strains
Bodega Boyz are back by popular demand after a short hiatus, and we’re not talking about a bacon egg and cheese with a bev. We’re talking high quality, two gram, dual chamber vapes that offer two different strains in each device! Pro Tip: hit the button once to switch between flavors and twice to merge the flavors and hit both at the same time!
The current lineup starts with the Pink Guava Runtz X Blueberry Certz (indica). Each side delivers flavorful clouds and potent, fast-acting, relaxing effects. Next up is the Hi-C X Vanilla Creme Brulee (hybrid). This vape offers the best of both worlds in both flavor and effect. For daytime fun, hit the Hi-C side with bright and punchy citrus notes. For after work, switch to the Vanilla Creme Brulee side for creamy smooth vanilla and burnt sugar terps. Up next is the Pineapple Slushie X Strawberry Milk (sativa). Pineapple Slushie boasts crispy, bright pineapple punch flavor and the Strawberry Milk side offers luscious, creamy strawberry flavor. Next is the Mango Gelato X Watermelon Zkittlez (hybrid) that never disappoints. One side offers velvety smooth mango terps while the other is decidedly more bright, boasting candy watermelon terps that give us real Sour Patch Kids vibes! Finally, the Lemon OG X Pink Guava (sativa). The Lemon OG side gives you a zippy pop of citrus while the Pink Guava offers a deep, floral and tropical sweetness with a gassy undertone. No matter which you choose (or which side you try first) you won’t be disappointed!
3. Off Hours Rosin Gummies (New Lineup!) Assorted Strains
It’s never the wrong hour to try Off Hours. If you’ve never tried them, you’re missing out. But not to worry. That’s why we’re here. To tell you what you’re missing so you stop missing it. This is that moment. The product you need to try before it leaves the shelves (and it will) is the new fall lineup of Off Hours rosin gummies! These things are delicious and the highs are just as strong as the new lineup of flavors. First up, the Blueberry Swirl (hybrid). These blueberry coconut flavored gummies are little drops of tropical sunshine you can keep in your pocket! Sweet, creamy, bright, tropical, and delicious. A must try for flavor lovers! Next up, the Poison Apple (hybrid). No worries, no actual poison was used while making these gummies. Just potent rosin and delicious green apple flavor. Semi sour, semi sweet, with subtle caramel notes. These things are perfect for a spooky movie night! Finally, the showstopper of the lineup (at least in our opinion), the Ectoplasm! These are delicious, bursting with spooky green citrus flavor with orange and tangerine being the strongest notes. A true citrus lover’s dream! All of these flavors are worth checking out and the packaging is so cool you’ll want to keep and collect the tins like many people have already started doing. Head to Terp Bros today to grab them while supplies last!
WEEKLY MUNCHIES HIGHLIGHT – MR CHICKEN & MRS TEA (OZP)
Sure, cooking for yourself saves money and going out to a fancy, expensive restaurant is fun but breaks the bank. Sometimes, you just need some good fried chicken and something tasty to wash it down. Mr. Chicken & Mrs. Tea offers hot, crunchy Korean style fried chicken in multiple tongue tingling flavors and a multitude of drinks to choose from to create your perfect pairing! When it comes to chicken, you can’t beat the original. The crunch, the spices, the juicy chicken. It’s a classic for a reason. If you’re feeling more adventurous, try either the spicy and sweet Korean glaze or the cheese snow chicken. Each offers its own unique take on the classic crunchy chicken. The spicy and sweet glaze is Gochujang based with a deep, earthy, spicy and sweet flavor while the cheese snow is a savory, cheesy powder coated mess of deliciousness. Get extra napkins regardless. No matter which you decide to go with, your mouth will thank you. As for sides and snacks, their assortment of Korean style corn dogs are all fantastic and worth trying. As well as their french fries and coleslaw. As for drinks, there are so many to choose from. You could come in every day for a month and not have the same one twice! Some of our favorites are the lychee tea, the berry berry berry smoothie, and the strawberry milk slush. Part of the fun of this place is basing your drink choice on what you think will pair well with the chicken you decide to order! Fun fact: you can’t go wrong with any of them!
WHAT TO DO IN QUEENS THIS WEEK!
1. Astoria Board Game Club Meetup – Q.E.D. Astoria – Tue, Oct. 14, 6:30pm
Do you think you have what it takes to rule the boards? Come to Q.E.D. Astoria to show your stuff! Risk it all and never say Sorry as you create your Monopoly over winning and Boggle the minds of your Clue-less enemies while you rise to the spot of numero Uno. Basically, what we’re trying to say is there will be lots of board games there. If you love board games and people who also love board games then this is the event for you! Come by Q.E.D. Astoria to roll the dice both physically and metaphorically. Win or lose, you’re guaranteed to have a great time and maybe even make some new friends!
2. Hit the Lanes at Bowl 360 Ozone Park!
Are you in the mood to make heavy balls go fast and crash into things? We have you covered! Head over to Bowl 360 in Ozone Park for a night of splits (both pins and banana), pool, beer, and food that’s totally okay. Sure, it isn’t Michelin star quality, but considering it’s a bowling alley, wouldn’t it be weirder if it was? Bowl 360 is basically every other bowling alley on the planet. Low lighting to hide stains and spills from drunk league players. Too much neon. Smells of rented shoes, fried foods, and sticky beer fill the air as the occasional waft of cigarette smoke drifts inside from just outside the door. To someone unfamiliar with bowling alley culture, this may sound like a description of a place to avoid, rather than frequent. That’s all part of the design. These seemingly imperfect things are what make a bowling alley a bowling alley. You don’t go there for amazing dining experiences or five star resort cleanliness. You go to get drunk for a reasonable price, eat greasy finger food, then shove those greasy fingers into a bowling ball and lob it as hard as you can down the lane in hopes for an accidental strike you can pretend you hit on purpose. Yeah, bro. You’re the coolest guy here. Let’s not talk about the other guys here or the height of the ‘coolness’ bar they happen to set. That doesn’t matter right now. All that matters is you totally hit a sweet strike and your name lit up that tiny screen above your head in an animation of a guy driving down the lane in a sweet Cadillac. That guy is you, and you totally did that because you’re skilled and athletic. Not just a drunk fluke. Not even a little bit. Next round’s on you, champ!
3. Get a Dose of Bliss at Bliss Vintage in Sunnyside!
Every once in a while, you find a store that changes the way you think about small businesses. A place where from the moment you walk through the door until long after you leave, the goods and service stick with you. Bliss Vintage in Sunnyside is one of those stores. In fact, to even call it a store is a disservice to what Bliss Vintage actually is. It’s more of a love letter to life and color. The store and the many goods that fill its shelves and walls tell the story of its eclectic owner and operator, Rebecca Vicars. When she was a child, she dreamed of living in a world that looked and felt just like her favorite TV show, Sesame Street. So, when she packed up and moved to New York City from Kingsport, Tennessee, she created her own little corner of what she always wanted. Walking into Bliss Vintage is a feast for the eyes. No matter where you look there are brightly colored garments and goods and each one plays an integral part in telling Rebecca’s story. By shopping at Bliss, you’re doing more than just supporting a local small business. You’re also becoming a small part of Rebecca’s dream and, in turn, changing the collection inside the shop in real time, making it a new, unique experience for the next lucky visitor. Like we said, it’s more than just a store. It’s a story. You can be a part of that story and get yourself a new favorite piece at the same time! Come by Bliss Vintage today to get a feel for what we mean and why we chose to write about Rebecca’s vision!
Well, sadly we’ve once again reached the end of our fun little newsletter. We hope to see you at some of the events or grabbing tea and chicken on your way to our new location in Ozone Park! Maybe even bump into you at Bliss picking up a new piece of bliss for your life. As always, thanks so much for reading every week and if you’ve got any suggestions for restaurants, events, or products you’d like to see carried at our stores or shouted out in future newsletters, shoot us a DM on Instagram. We love hearing from you and look forward to highlighting the spots and products you love! Until next Tuesday, stay high kings and queens of Queens!
