You’re on a breezy beach in the Caribbean. The sun is shining and the waves are breaking on the shore in the distance. Suddenly, you have a craving for an ice-cold raspberry lemonade. You’re not on a beach at all. You’re in your apartment, stoned, and you have a pretty serious case of cottonmouth. But for a brief moment, that beach did exist. Those waves were breaking in the distance. You had finally achieved true bliss. All thanks to the new raspberry lemonade bliss gummies from Camino. Now get up, head to the store and grab yourself an ice-cold bottle of raspberry lemonade. You deserve it. Make your own beach with Camino.

LOCAL MUNCHIES HIGHLIGHT – Souvlaki Lady

If you’ve lived in Astoria for any amount of time… Scratch that. If you’ve lived in NYC for any amount of time, then you have surely heard of the Souvlaki Lady. Her humble setup includes a mobile kitchen just big enough to hold her and the delicious food she cooks up on the daily. Situated on the corner of Ditmars Blvd and 33rd St here in Astoria, the Souvlaki Lady has been cooking up delectable souvlaki sticks, rice platters, and sandwiches for hungry Astorians for years. Her process is simple. She makes delicious, perfectly seasoned flame-grilled skewers of pork and chicken. That’s pretty much it. Sure, you can add that to a sandwich on warm, fluffy pita bread with fresh veggies and homemade sauces. Or you could get it served over a bed of perfectly steamed, hot and delicious rice with fresh salad and tasty toppings. However, the meat alone is worth a visit. If for some reason you have not enjoyed the culinary experience that is eating a souvlaki stick from the Souvlaki Lady while standing on the street, we highly suggest you do. You’ll be happy you did, and you’re welcome in advance. As a matter of fact, I’ll be right back.

WHAT TO DO IN QUEENS THIS WEEK

Sorry about that, but talking about Souvlaki Lady so much and her being right down the street I just had to go grab a chicken stick. Now I’m back and ready to tell you about some fun things to do in Queens this week. With a twist!

1)    Smoke In a Park – Anywhere, Queens

Spring is here. Sure, the temperatures have been in the fifties and it’s rained more this month than in the Amazon (probably not) but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s spring and springtime things still have to happen. That’s why our first recommendation for things to do this week involves getting outside! In fact, all of them do this week. First up, smoke in a park. It’s pretty straight forward. Find a nice spot in a local park (away from others, don’t be a jerk) and light up. It doesn’t matter if you’re alone, with friends, a significant other, etc. It’s about getting out into nature and reminding yourself why life is so great. Sunshine, grass (nice), and open air. There aren’t many things that that combination doesn’t make better. Give it a shot.

2)    Ride The Ferry (While High)

It’s an undeniable fact. If you get high enough, you start to pretend you’re a pirate. We’re not going to claim to know or understand why. We’re not scientists. We sell weed. But we’ve seen enough people take one too many hits and start acting like a pirate too many times to deny it. However, there’s a bit of good news. If you suffer from too high, I’m a pirate now syndrome, there’s a cure. You just need to set sail, and if you live in Astoria, you’re in luck! The NYC Ferry stops here and can take you wherever you want to go as long as where you want to go is one of their pre-scheduled destinations. All jokes aside, having a ferry here in Astoria to connect you to other parts of the city in style is a complete game changer. Nice day? A little extra time? Hop on board (peg legs not required or provided) and enjoy one of the many travel perks of living in Astoria!

3)    Take a “Never Been There” Walk

This one is pretty simple. Think about this. How many times have you walked down the same street in your neighborhood and seen a store or restaurant you’ve never been to only to keep walking and go to a place you’ve been a thousand times before? We thought so. We all do it, and without pushing yourself to try new things and live new experiences it’s easy to get caught up in routines and start feeling like the days are all bleeding together. Do yourself a favor. Take that same walk down that same street you walk down every day. Only this time, instead of going to the same places and doing the same things you’ve already done, push yourself to only go into stores and restaurants that you’ve never been to before. Who knows? You might even find a new spot to add to the lineup of regular places. Maybe you’ll even make some new friends and that’s something we could all use!

There you have it, Terp Folks! Thanks so much for reading and checking out the new products available at Terp Bros Astoria this week! We hear you, and we want you to know that we’re here to highlight the products and places that make our great community even greater! Reach out to us on IG to recommend restaurants and events you’d like to see featured in the newsletter or just tell us what products you’ve been smoking on over the last week! Until next Terpsday, stay high, Astoria!
